Following the first Building Liability Order made under the Building Safety Act 2022, we have asked Michael Levenstein of Gatehouse Chambers, who was instructed by the successful applicant, to join us for a discussion about how the courts are interpreting the legislation.

Speakers
Barrister, Gatehouse Chambers
Michael specialises in construction and engineering disputes and general commercial litigation. Michael’s cases frequently involve high-value and technically-complex disputes, both in the TCC and international litigation and arbitration. He also sits as a TECBAR-accredited Adjudicator.
Michael serves as a member of the Executive Committee of TECBAR and on Council of the Society of Construction Law. He was appointed to the Attorney General’s Panel Counsel to the Crown in 2024.
He is a contributor to a number of texts, including Construction All Risks and Construction Professional Indemnity Insurance (Sweet & Maxwell), and sits on the Consulting Editorial Board for LexisNexis Construction.
In addition to his practice, Michael is a Visiting Lecturer at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London.
