Our expertise
Insurers are well served by high quality legal advisers, with firms like Clyde & Co, Kennedys, and DAC Beachcroft employing literally hundreds of lawyers whose time is spent exclusively on representing the interests of insurers.
Policyholders, on the other hand, have traditionally been less well represented and have had to turn to non-specialist solicitors for advice when insurance disputes arose. These generalist solicitors may not understand the intricacies of the insurance market and may fail to successfully navigate the complexities required to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients. There has been an inequality of arms between insurers and almost every policyholder for far too long, and our specialist lawyers are determined to level the playing field.
Fenchurch Law exists to provide policyholders with access to the same high quality, specialist and expert insurance legal advice that insurers have been able to take for granted for decades.
We are genuine insurance specialists, having previously worked for leading companies in a variety of roles including insurance broker, claims adjuster and insurer-side lawyer. Every single member of our team of solicitors has direct experience of the insurance market and all the insight and understanding that brings. All focus exclusively on insurance coverage work.
Our highly experienced and specialist lawyers are organised into three main practice areas: Construction & Property Risks, Financial & Commerical Risks and Reinsurance & International Risks.
Each practice area is partner-led and comprises experienced and talented lawyers, with a reputation for innovation and a commitment to solving complex problems simply and efficiently.

Construction & Property Risks
We act for employers, contractors, sub-contractors, and property owners in relation to disputed insurance claims under Construction All Risks, Professional Indemnity, Third Party Liability, and other policy types

Financial & Commercial Risks
We represent policyholders of all types, insured against a range of financial and commercial risks including D&O, EPL, Cyber, Warranty & Indemnity, and other policy types

Products & Environmental Risks
The range of risks facing policyholders across all sectors is constantly evolving – never have we seen this more clearly than during the COVID-19 pandemic

Professional Risks
Too often, insurers treat professional indemnity policyholders as opponents rather than customers
Our specialist solicitors are committed to levelling the playing field between policyholders and insurers, and to ensuring that insurance contracts are clear and fair – and that valid claims are paid promptly and in full

International Risks
Our expert lawyers represent non-UK and multinational policyholders, captives, and cedants from across the world which either insure or reinsure risks into the London Market. We have acted for some of the world’s best known businesses, and our team has successfully resolved coverage disputes on behalf of clients from every continent.
