Ayo Babatunde
Associate Solicitor
“I was attracted to Fenchurch Law because of the breadth of expertise it has across all lines of insurance for brokers and policyholders. I was also drawn to Fenchurch Law’s openness and approach to neurodiversity as I am dyslexic and dyspraxic. I believe it will ensure I work to the best of my ability and fulfil my potential.”
Ayo is an associate solicitor specialising in coverage disputes and is a member of our Construction and Property team.
Ayo also has a keen interest in environmental insurance risks, especially relating to ESG, Climate Change and Environmental Liability. His recent experience includes:
- Acting for the UK’s largest chain of seaside resorts in a litigated dispute with its insurers following extreme flooding. This resulted in property damage and BI losses around £60 million.
- Acting for a well-established housebuilder and contractor in a claim worth over £50 million on several projects for post-Grenfell fire safety exposures.
- Acting for a company in a D&O claim relating to losses arising out of breach of a loan agreement.
- A secondment to the Howden M&A Legal, Technical and Claims Team, where he handled a variety of buyer-side Warranty and Indemnity Claims.
Prior to joining Fenchurch Law, Ayo trained at DAC Beachcroft, completing seats in Property Casualty, Professional & Financial Lines, Commercial Health and Real Estate.
Ayo graduated from the University of Nottingham, achieving a first-class degree, before achieving a distinction in his LPC at BPP University.
