{"id":392,"date":"2024-03-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fenchurchlaw.hostingsystems.co.uk\/uk\/blog\/2024\/03\/26\/financial-ombudsman-service-increases-awards-cap\/"},"modified":"2024-08-21T16:42:43","modified_gmt":"2024-08-21T15:42:43","slug":"financial-ombudsman-service-increases-awards-cap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fenchurchlaw.com\/en-uk\/financial-ombudsman-service-increases-awards-cap\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Ombudsman Service Increases Awards Cap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 13 March 2024 the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) announced increases to the cap that applies to their awards.<\/p>\n<p>The increased awards will affect complaints referred to FOS on or after 1 April 2024:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a3430,000 will apply to complaints about acts or omissions by firms on or after 1 April 2019 where the complaint is referred on or after 1 April 2024;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a3195,000 will apply to complaints about acts or omissions by firms before 1 April 2019 where the complaint is referred on or after 1 April 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fenchurch Advocacy Services offers a non-legal service to assist Policyholders with insurance coverage disputes that may be eligible for referral to the FOS. In general terms this will include disputes from consumers, micro enterprises and SME businesses.
